Company History
As a Company, JTW Air Express began domestic airfreight forwarding operations in January of 1983.
Though our financial resources were limited at that time, our human resources enabled us to compete very
well in a field of over 300 direct competitors. What allowed us to succeed in a competitive
industry then holds true today; "People, Not Planes,
Deliver".
Our basic principles from the beginning, today and in the future will remain consistent with:
- Providing service levels greater than customer expectation
- Enhance our customers ability to grow their business
- Provide an environment whereby our customers look forward to contacting us
One of the important factors in our growth can be attributed to ease of use
issues. As our domestic customer base grew, we were commonly asked if we could simplify international shipping.
In September 1997 we secured an IATA License and added international airfreight forwarding to our menu of services.
Our customers then and now find that international shipping is as easy as
domestic from a transportation standpoint.
In the late 90's our customers were experiencing inconsistent service with their
expedited ground carriers. Our customers asked if we could find a way to
consistently provide exclusive use trucks within 90 minutes of request.
In April 1999 we addressed this issue starting with our Detroit, Michigan Area
Customers. We obtained intrastate authority in Michigan and with the
purchase of 10 trucks launched our expedited truck program. In November
1999 we expanded our fleet and obtained authority to operate in 48 states and
Ontario, Canada. In addition, we have developed partnerships with other
expedited ground carriers and today we provide responsive expedited ground
service to and from all points in North America.
So here we are in the new millennium, it's an exciting time for us as we further
develop our programs and acquire technologies to support our current and
future customer needs.
